fabulous food

We had Bunco last Friday night- FABULOUS. The gracious Leisa served some fine jumbalaya and bread. I ate two helpings.

And Debi brought a salad. I must say it was by far the best salad I have ever eaten. Ever. In my life. I am a picky salad eater- I don't want any raw veggies like cucumber, tomato, onion, celery, bell pepper, mushroom, carrots, etc. I either do not like the taste or I am allergic, sometimes both (like cucumber).

Debi added artichoke hearts (OMG), berries, feta cheese (that was feta, right?) and I don't know what all else.

When RD and I went to the grocery store this week we loaded up on salad stuff. Capers, artichoke hearts were on the top of my list. And I have been picking blackberries from the yard everyday to add to the romaine lettuce in my salad bowl. yum. GBK loves the berries too.

OK- Ms Debi, what all did you put in that salad and where did you buy those wonderful artichoke hearts?

Oh, honey, you are too sweet! I really hate to disappoint you, but it was bagged lettuce, blackberries from my yard, dried cranberries, feta cheese, strawberries, green onions and canned artichoke hearts. The dressing was a Greek something with feta cheese. I'll make you a salad anytime!~~~~~~LYG, Debi

Dang, that sounds good. I always forget to be creative with salad. I'm always like, "Um, lettuce..and?"

How lucky are you to have blackberries in your yard?

(Note to self: Find out where RM lives and pilfer shamelessly.)
